The SDR-LW 3980 is the latest 8-channel high-performance standalone Software-Defined Radio (SDR) device introduced by LUOWAVE. It integrates an onboard processor, FPGA, and RF front-end. The FPGA features the resource-rich, user-programmable Xilinx MPSoC ZU11EG. The SDR device comes with a built-in Ubuntu operating system and includes application software such as GNU Radio.

The Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC incorporates a scalable 64-bit processor system, featuring an application processing unit (APU), a real-time processing unit (RPU), a graphics processing unit (GPU), and configurable programmable logic platforms. By combining real-time control with hardware and software engines for graphics, video, waveform, and packet processing, this device enables limitless possibilities for applications such as 5G wireless communications, next-generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

The SDR-LW 3980 serves as an ideal platform for developing a wide range of advanced research applications, including the emulation of standalone 5G and 802.11 devices, development of Media Access Control (MAC) algorithms, implementation of multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) systems, design of heterogeneous networks, 5G transmission, RF compression sampling, spectral remote sensing, cognitive radio systems, beamforming, and direction finding.
