The USRP-LW E320 is a feature-rich, high-performance embedded Software Defined Radio (SDR) device that incorporates optimized upgrades in stream processing, synchronization, integration, fault recovery, and remote management capabilities.
Featuring an AD9361 RF transceiver, it supports 2×2 MIMO configuration with a frequency coverage of 70 MHz to 6 GHz and an instantaneous bandwidth of up to 56 MHz. The baseband processor utilizes a Xilinx Zynq-7045 SoC, which integrates FPGA acceleration and a dual-core ARM CPU capable of operating either independently or collaboratively.
Built on an open-source framework with support for customizable Linux systems, the USRP-LW E320 offers flexible solutions for specialized application requirements. The system comes pre-installed with USRP Hardware Driver (UHD) and third-party development tools like GNU Radio, providing users with rapid development and deployment capabilities. This makes it an ideal platform for wireless communication research, field testing, and embedded applications.
Standalone Operation Capability
Equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor and supporting Ubuntu or Windows operating systems, the device can operate independently without relying on an external host computer, making it ideal for field deployment and mobile applications.
High-Precision Synchronization Mechanism
Supports external clock reference input and PPS timing reference input, with an optional GPS-disciplined oscillator (GPSDO) for high-precision multi-channel MIMO system synchronization. This feature is particularly suitable for distributed wireless systems.
Compact Design and Remote Management
Compact form factor: Features a fully enclosed 3U standard-height chassis that combines lightweight construction, low power consumption, and space-saving design advantages.
Remote management functionality: Enables remote software updates, reboots, and factory resets, significantly simplifying device management and maintenance.
Development and Software Support
The open-source USRP Hardware Driver (UHD) API and RF Network-on-Chip (RFNoC) FPGA development framework streamline software development. With seamless integration to mainstream open-source tools like GNU Radio and MATLAB, users can rapidly prototype and reliably deploy various SDR applications.
